For starters, my name is Keith LaBrecque.
About 2 years ago, my wonderful wife had put a picture of me with my daughter down the beach on facebook. I knew I wasn’t in the greatest shape, and this was an eye opener.
After I saw this picture, something in me finally realized that I had to get moving. Shortly there after, I tried getting into a pick-up basketball league, and quickly realized I had a torn meniscus in my right knee.
After a few weeks of “conservative” treatment, it was decided to be fixed surgically.
I began my first round of P90x about 7 weeks after surgery. I followed the “Lean” version of the program, as I felt I wanted to slim down a bit before I tried to get more muscle on me. 8 weeks into this round, I was down 15 pounds, my pants were falling off of me, and I was feeling good!!
By the end of my first round I was down 19 pounds(to 176lbs), And I was feeling great! I looked a lot different than when I started, and was happy about it.
Over the summer of 2010 I started the “Classic” version. After a couple of weeks I floundered for a bit, and restarted again. I did this a couple of times before the beach vacation came. Luckily, I was a lot happier about what I saw in the pictures this year!
Again, I started and stopped a time or two, and just before Halloween, I asked in a “Facebook Status” for people to join me in yet another round of P90x. This time I was going to do the “Plus” version.
In a weeks time I had about a dozen people enlisted in my little facebook page, and it was time to start the round. It took us through Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. What a perfect time to decide to commit, and succeed through the holiday season!
Well, today is 1/29/11, and I am almost finished with week 1 of INSANITY!
My next posts will be about my journey through this incredible workout!
I look forward to any feedback anyone has, as well as questions I could answer!
